Oil Painting

Artist Statement. . .

Something to understand about art, is that it is subjective.  When we see a piece that strikes us, we interpret the art based on what we know and believe to be true. The definition of truth differs for each individual. Since everyone has lived a different life, people reference their own past experiences to make sense of something.

My art is designed to draw out memories, emotions, and images from a person’s past based on what they see in my work. By implementing abstraction, I encourage the responsive process, and strive to create intimate moments, originating through techniques of exclusion, acceptance, color chemistry, and figure metamorphosis.
